Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026. Written in plain English — no legal fog.

Who we are

The Gambia Hub ("we", "us") is an independent information site run by Bubacarr Jobe from Vienna, Austria. Because we operate from the European Union, this policy is written to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data we collect

  • Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — anonymised page views, approximate location (country/region), device type, referrer and time spent. This helps us understand which content is useful.
  • Contact form submissions — your name, email, subject and message. Used only to reply to you.
  • Newsletter emails — your email address, stored so we can send you weekly opportunity updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We do not sell your data. We do not build advertising profiles.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for essential site functionality and for Google Analytics. Analytics cookies are anonymised and used only for aggregated traffic reporting. You can block cookies in your browser settings without breaking the site.

Affiliate links & third parties

Some pages (especially our remittance guides) contain affiliate links to third-party providers such as Wise, Remitly and WorldRemit. When you click these links you leave our site and are subject to the provider's own privacy policy. See our affiliate disclosure for details.

Your GDPR rights

If you are in the EU/EEA/UK you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these rights, email info@thegambiahub.net and we will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

Contact form messages are kept for up to 24 months. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google's default GA4 retention period (14 months).
